THIBODAUX, La. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's & women's tennis programs closed out the weekend with 6-1 victories over Nicholls on Sunday at the Colonel Tennis Complex.
It was the regular season finale for the women, who finished the year with a 19-3 overall record and 9-2 in conference. The Southland Conference Tournament bracket will be released Monday.
"Our team showed tremendous character today. The women bounced back from a heartbreaking loss and fought with all their hearts. I'm proud of the way they bounced back and got back on the road of competing like family and warriors. I loved the way they lifted each other up today and competed with great tenacity," said head coach
Steve Moore.
The men improved to 15-4 overall and 3-0 in conference. They are the only unbeaten team left in the SLC standings.
"These guys have tremendous leadership and have just worked so hard. They just keep out-working people and are getting better every week. They do the right things, the disciplined things that win championship matches without the coaches even having to ask. I love that about this group. I love the energy they bring and they way they fight for each other," Moore said.
