- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball team picked up its 20th win of the season with a gutsy 43-40 victory over New Orleans Wednesday night in a packed Dugan Wellness Center.
- With the win, the Islanders improve to 20-7 and 14-3 in Southland play, while the Privateers fall to 15-11 and 11-6 in conference action.
- The Blue and Green have now won 20 games for the first time since the 2009-10 season.
- A&M-Corpus Christi completes the regular season sweep over the Privateers and improves its all-time series record to 11-3.
- Tonight's win marks the final game to be played inside the Dugan this season. The last two home games of the year will be played downtown at the American Bank Center.

Key Islander Statistics
- Trailing 18-13 entering the second half, the Islanders began to chip away at the Privateer lead in third frame, scoring six of the first eight points. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi ultimately tied the game at 23-23 after a converted layup from Bryant at the 5:10 mark of the third quarter.
- Both squads exchanged leads and remained deadlocked at 28-28 heading into the fourth.
- Holding a 41-40 lead with 20 seconds left in regulation, Evans hit a clutch jumper just inside the top of the key to put Texas A&M-Corpus Christi up 43-40.
- After an exchange of possessions, UNO still had a change to send the game into overtime with a three point basket. The Privateers attempted a half court buzzer beater as time expired, but Bryant was right there for the block to lock up A&M-Corpus Christi's 20th win of the year.
- Bryant once again led the Islander offense with 13 points including a team leading eight rebounds, just shy of a double-double. Bryant also recorded a game high four blocks.
- Booth followed with 10, including six straight points in the third quarter. She also added seven rebounds and a steal.
- Coleman-O'Bryan collected seven points which included one three point basket. In addition, Coleman-O'Bryan dished out a season high six assists and grabbed five rebounds in 35 minutes played.
- Evans was also active down low on the boards, as the senior guard tied for the team lead with eight rebounds, also a new season high.

Olivia Dowden scored five points off of the bench including the Islanders' second three point field goal of the game
- The defense of the Blue and Green once again proved to be the difference maker, forcing 19 Privateer turnovers on six steals and just 36-percent shooting from the field.
- A&M-Corpus Christi edged New Orleans in the battle of the boards, grabbing 36 rebounds compared to the Privateers' 35.
Islander Notables
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is now 11-1 on their home floor this season.
- Booth now claims sole possession of No. 3 all-time in career field goals made with 474. With seven rebounds against the Privateers, Booth also propels three spots to No. 7 with 556 career rebounds.
- Bryant continues to chip away at her own single season shot block record with four more blocks tonight, moving her season total to 46, good to jump to No. 4.
- The Islanders are now 16-4 when they outrebound their opponent.
