- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball team completed the season sweep over UIW with a 56-50 victory over the Cardinals Saturday afternoon at the American Bank Center in downtown Corpus Christi.
- The game was also apart of the Homecoming festivities for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
- With the win, A&M-Corpus Christi improves to 21-7 overall and 15-3 in the Southland. The Cardinals fall to 14-13 and 10-8 in conference action.
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi keeps pace with SFA atop the Southland Conference standings, as both now boast a 15-3 record in the league with just two games remaining in the regular season.
- The Islanders complete the regular season sweep over UIW and improve their all-time series record to 12-2. They also own a perfect 7-0 mark against Incarnate Word on the Island.
- For the 10th straight game the starting lineup featured;

Dalesia Booth,
Emma Young (Coleman-O'Bryan),
Dae Dae Evans, and
Alecia Westbrook. The four seniors and one freshman are now 9-1 when starting together this season.

Key Islander Statistics
- Booth led the offense with her 21st double digit scoring performance this season, collecting 18 points on eight-of-13 from the field. The senior also added four assists, three steals, two rebounds and played all 40 minutes for the Blue and Green.
- Evans reached double figures for the second time in three games, scoring 11 points with three steals, two assists and two rebounds. She recorded a key steal and basket as time expired in the third quarter to give the Islanders a 42-28 over UIW.
- Bryant nearly collected a double-double with eight points and a team leading eight rebounds. She also tied for the team lead with four assists and added a block.
- Westbrook added six points with three steals, two rebounds and a block.
- Coleman-O'Bryan collected five points with two assists and a team leading four steals.
- The Islanders shot 48-percent from the field compared to the Cardinals' 40.8-percent. UIW also grabbed 35 rebounds while A&M-Corpus Christi collected 26.
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi did most of its scoring down low, scoring 38 points in the paint.
- The Islander defense forced 20 Cardinal turnovers on 11 steals.
Islander Notables
- Bryant's one block against UIW puts her in a tie for No. 4 all-time in program history with 113 career blocks. Entering today's game, the senior forward was the conference leader in blocks with 46.
- Booth's 18 points today put her just 14 away from taking over the No. 3 spot on the all-time scoring list.
- Coleman-O'Bryan played 37 minutes, good enough to put her in the top 10 for career minutes played with 3,020. Booth currently sits at No. 5 with 3,370 minutes.
- The Blue and Green are now 13-1 this season when holding their opponents to 50-59 points scoring.
