Women's basketball holds off Lamar for 13th SLC win

Story Headlines
- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball team defeated Lamar University, 64-56, on Saturday afternoon at the Montague Center in Beaumont, Texas.
- The Islanders improved to 19-7 overall and 13-3 in Southland play while the Cardinals fall to 9-17 overall and 5-12 in conference action.
- The Blue and Green's 13th win in SLC play is the most in the regular season of conference action since the Islanders joined the league in 2006-07.
- Dalesia Booth scored a game-high 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting. She had five rebounds, three steals, two assists and a blocked shot. Booth hit all four of her free throw attempts.
- The Cardinals led for four minutes in the second half but the Islanders regained control late and held on for the win.

- The Islanders made 20-of-23 free throws (87 percent), going 11-for-14 at the line in the fourth quarter.
- Dae Dae Evans scored 13 points with four steals, two rebounds and an assist. She was 7-for-9 at the free throw line.
- Emma Young (Coleman-O'Bryan) knocked down a pair of three pointers, finishing with 13 points, two rebounds, two steals and two assists.
- Alexes Bryant tied a career-high with 13 rebounds, scoring eight points with two steals and a blocked shot.

- Booth's 24 points today vaulted her two spots on the all-time Islander scoring list to No. 4 with 1,238 points. 
- Coleman-O'Bryan also makes a jump on the all-time scoring list with her 13 points today, as she moves up to No. 9 all-time in career scoring with 1,093 career points. In addition, the Nicholas, Kentucky native's two three point baskets today vault her to No. 9 all-time in career three point field goals made (90). 
- Bryant's two blocks push her single season total to 42, which not only leads the team, but places her fourth all-time in school history for blocks in a season. Bryant owns the single season record of 66, which she set as a junior in 2018-19.
