- McNeese added one run in the top of the 7th, making the score 8-1 in favor of the Cowgirls. The Islanders added their final run in the bottom of the inning courtesy of a solo home run from freshman
Haley Morse, the first of her career.
- Hoyt got the start in the circle against the Cowgirls, throwing 4.1 innings and giving up three earned runs on nine hits with one strikeout.
- Sophomore
Jenika Lombrana came in relief for the next 2.1 innings, recording three strikeouts on nine batters face with one earned run allowed.
Alexis Ruel also pitched 0.1 innings, inducing a flyout for the final out of the top of the 7th.
- Morse led the offense, batting three-for-three including a solo home run, while
Gabriella Torres batted two-for-three which included a pair of singles.
