- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball team won its sixth consecutive game, defeating Houston Baptist, 75-65, on Saturday afternoon in Houston, Texas.
- With the win, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi improves to 15-6 and 9-2 in the Southland. HBU falls to 5-14 overall and 1-9 in conference play.
- The Islanders improve their all-time series lead over HBU to 9-6, including a 5-3 record on the road.
- A&M-Corpus Christi now sits in a three way tie for the top spot in the Southland with Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State, as each team holds a 9-2 record in the conference.

Key Islander Statistics and Sequences
- After HBU scored the opening bucket of the game, the Islanders went on a 15-0 scoring run, as Bryant, Booth and Coleman-O'Bryan all collected three point baskets to take a 13 point lead. At the end of the first quarter, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi held a 25-11 advantage over the Huskies while shooting 69.2-percent from the field.
- A&M-Corpus Christi extended its lead to as many as 16 in the second frame, before entering the locker room with a 41-28 advantage. The Huskies outscored the blue and green in the third quarter, 18-14, but were unable to get any closer than eight points in the fourth.
- For the second consecutive game, the trio of Bryant, Booth and Coleman-O'Bryan all reached double figures. Both Booth and Bryant scored 16 points while Coleman-O'Bryan followed with 10.
- Bryant and Booth both grabbed five rebounds, while Bryant also added three assists, three blocks and one steal. Booth collected two assists, one steal and one block. She also shot two-of-three from beyond the arc and went a perfect six-of-six at the free throw line.
- Coleman-O'Bryan dished out a team leading four assists along with two steals and two rebounds.
- Westbrook and
Giana Wright collected eight points each while Westbrook grabbed a team leading six rebounds.
- Evans scored four points and dished out three assists to go along with four rebounds and a steal.

Makinna Serrata saw action in her second consecutive game of 2020, as the Tilden, Texas native scored six points on three-of-five shooting from the field. She also recorded a block, a steal and a rebound in 11 minutes of action.
- The Huskies edged the Islanders on the boards, collecting 34 rebounds compared to the blue and green's 32.
- The Islanders had their best performance of the year from the charity stripe, knocking down 19-of-21 attempts for 90.5-percent. It marks the first time the blue and green have shot 90-percent from the free throw line since Feb. 2, 2019, which was also against Houston Baptist.
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi forced 18 HBU turnovers on 10 steals and held the Huskies to 38.7-percent shooting from the floor.
Islander Notables
- Booth continues to inch closer to the all-time shot block record set by Roberta Plaza from 2000-04 (124). The senior is now just two shy of tying the program record and three away from becoming the all-time leader.
- Bryant has now recorded three or more blocks for the sixth time this season and 13 times in her two years on the Island. She is three blocks away from 100.
- Evans' one steal this afternoon puts her two shy of claiming the No. 3 spot for career steals by and Islander (169), while Booth is now three away of taking over the No. 3 spot (146). Coleman-O'Bryan is now in sole possession of No. 7 all-time with 129 career steals.
- The Islanders' six game winning streak in conference action is the longest streak since the 2013-14 season, when the blue and green won eight straight from Feb. 6-March, 8, 2014.
- The 9-2 record in Southland play is the best start to the opening 11 games of conference play since Texas A&M-Corpus Christi joined the league in the 2006-07 season.
