- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball team continues to roll in Southland play, as they defeated McNeese State University, 73-59, at the H&HP Complex in Lake Charles, La. on Wednesday night.
- With the win, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi improves its overall record to 16-6 and 10-2 in the Southland. The Cowgirls fall to 5-16 and 2-10 in conference action.
- A&M-Corpus Christi has now won seven straight games dating back to Jan. 11.
- Tonight's victory for the Islanders marked the first win in Lake Charles since Jan. 6, 2007, when the blue and green won 66-54 in old Burton Coliseum.

- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi knocked down seven three points baskets in the first two quarters of play, just two shy of tying the program record for three point field goals made in the first half.
- After holding a 39-29 lead at halftime, the Islanders opened up the third quarter on an 11-0 scoring run, stretching its lead to as many as 24 points.
- Four of the five starters for the blue and green reached double figures, as Booth led the way with 15 points, while Bryant added 13, Westbrook scored 12 and Coleman-O'Bryan netted 10. It marks the back-to-back games that at least four players have reached double figures.
- The 12 points for Westbrook mark a new career high for the Kansas City native. She also added five rebounds, two blocks, two assists and a steal.
- Bryant led the charge on the battle of the boards, grabbing a game high eight rebounds, to go along with five assists, four steals and two blocks. For the thirteenth time this season, A&M-Corpus Christi outrebounded its opponent as they snagged 40 rebounds compared to McNeese's 31.
- The blue and green recorded 19 second chance points on 17 offensive rebounds. 32 of A&M-Corpus Christi's points came in the paint and the Islanders' bench outscored the Cowgirls' bench, 16-8.
- Booth shot an even 50-percent from the field which included three-of-six from beyond the arc, a new season high for the senior. She also grabbed five rebounds.
- Coleman-O'Bryan went four-of-eight from the field while knocking down two three point baskets.

- Evans continues to command the point guard position, scoring seven points and recording five rebounds, three assists and a steal.
- Serrata added five points and six rebounds, while Campbell also collected five points, an assist and a steal.
- The A&M-Corpus Christi defense forced 23 Cowgirl turnovers on 13 steals, which resulted in 17 points off of those turnovers.
- For the second consecutive game, the Islanders shot greater than 90-percent from the charity stripe, converting on 11-of-12 free throws for 91.7-percent.
Islander Notables
- Booth's one block tonight puts her at 123 for her career, just one shy of tying the all-time program record set by Roberta Plaza from 2000-04 (124).
- Bryant's two blocks against McNeese put her at 99 in two years on the Island. The Cibolo, Texas native has once again vaulted into the top 10 for single season blocks at No. 10 with 33 this year.
- Evans added three assists to bring her career total to 189, good to move up to No. 9 all-time. She also moves up to a tie for No. 3 all-time in steals with 168.
- The seven game winning streak is the second longest in program history, the blue and green won eight straight during the 2003-04 and 2013-14 seasons.
- The Islanders are now 13-3 when they outrebound their opponents this season.
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi continues to be one of the top defensive squads in all of the Southland as they have now held six of their last seven opponents to under 60 points.
