SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi track and field teams will compete in the 2019 NCAA Division I West Preliminaries starting on Thursday, May 23, at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, Calif. The Islanders have five student-athletes competing this week.
Sashane Hanson enters the meet as the No. 5 ranked high jumper at 6' 0.75". She is scheduled to compete on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. CST.
Sprinter
Sierra Pruitt enters the 200 meter dash ranked No. 22 in the region at 23.32. Her preliminary heat is on Friday at 9:30 p.m. CST. The quarterfinal round will be on Saturday at 9:35 p.m. CST.
On the men's side, freshman
Daniel Armstrong is ranked No. 41 in the 110m hurdles at 14.18. His first round is on Friday at 7 p.m. CST and the finals are at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday evening.
Dubem Nwachukwu will compete in the 400 meter prelims on Thursday at 9:45 p.m. CST. His best time of 46.95 ranks No. 45 in the region. Quarterfinals for the 400m dash are on Friday at 9:15 p.m. CST.
Logan Robinson is scheduled to compete in the javelin on Friday at 2 p.m. His best mark of 201' 8" from the Southland Championships ranks No. 46 in the region.

The 2019 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships are being held in Austin, Texas, starting on Wednesday, June 5. The 2019 and 2020 Outdoor Championships will be held in Austin while the University of Oregon finishes construction on Hayward Field. The top 12 qualifiers from the East and West regionals (24 combined) will earn a spot at the national championship meet.
