Osborn tabbed for Buster Posey Award Watch List

WICHITA, Kan. -- The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission released the 2019 Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award Watch List late Monday afternoon, naming Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi junior Drake Osborn to the prestigious honor roll. Per the official GWASC release, Osborn joins 78 fellow collegiate athletes on the watch list for the award, given annually to the nation's top catcher in NCAA Division I Baseball. 

Throughout this season's campaign, Osborn has served as a key member of the Islanders batting order, primarily hitting cleanup with a .297 batting average and a .358 on-base percentage. Thus far, the junior has posted 13 RBIs, including an eventual game-winning grand slam at Incarnate Word, on 22 hits with 15 runs scored.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi continues to work into the latter half of the 2019 season, hosting Incarnate Word later Wednesday evening before proceeding to yet another three-game Southland series this weekend, facing Houston Baptist from Friday, Apr. 5 through Sunday, Apr. 7.
