CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi beach volleyball team will head to Gulf Shores, Ala., starting on Friday, March 8. The Islanders will play Austin Peay, Alabama-Birmingham, New Orleans and Spring Hill College over the weekend.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will play Spring Hill on Friday, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a 3 p.m. match against Austin Peay. On Saturday, the Islanders will play New Orleans at 1:30 p.m. and will face host UAB on Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
The Islanders opened the season with a home split on Thursday, Feb. 28, falling to Texas A&M-Kingsville but rebounding to beat San Jose State. On Monday, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi swept a pair of home matches against Louisiana Monroe to move to 3-1 on the year.
Up next, the Islanders host the Islander Beach Volleyball Classic, presented by the Emerald Beach Hotel. The weekend features matches against TCU, Houston Baptist and UNC Wilmington at the new Water's Edge Park near downtown Corpus Christi.
