Women's basketball falls to No. 11 Aggies in College Station

Story Headlines
- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball team fell to the No. 11 ranked Texas A&M Aggies, 85-48, Sunday afternoon in College Station, Texas. 
- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi moves to 8-4 overall this season, while the Aggies improve to 12-1. 
- Today's matchup marked the fifth all-time meeting between the two schools and the final non-conference game for the Islanders this season. 
- Today's starting five included; Alexes Bryant, Dae Dae Evans, Emma Young, Dalesia Booth and Tiara Matthews

Key Islander Statistics
- Bryant gave A&M-Corpus Christi their first lead of the game, sinking a three-point basket on the Islanders' opening possession of the first quarter. She finished with 11 points and six rebounds.
- Teammate Alecia Westbrook matched Bryant with a new career high 11 points along with three blocks and three steals. Young added eight points, two assists and two rebounds. 
- Freshman Hayle Campbell scored five points followed by Booth and Torrionna Nesbitt who each netted four. 
- As a unit, the Islanders went four-of-10 from beyond the arc for 40-percent, compared the Aggies who shot three-of-12. 
- The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi defense forced 12 Aggie turnovers on six steals. Bryant, Matthews and Arhianna Sims-Jackson all collected a steal respectively.
- The Islanders recorded seven blocks for the third time in 2019, matching their season high.   
- A&M-Corpus Christi recorded 22 of its points inside the paint and outscored the Aggie's bench 20-16.

Islander Notables
- Young moves up one spot to No. 5 all-time in career defensive rebounds with 381. Her two assists today give her 238 for her career, good for No. 5 all-time in program history. 
- Booth collected her 16th block of the season and is now just 15 short of tying the all-time career record of 124 blocks. 
- Bryant reached double figures for the sixth time this season. She is currently second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.7 points/game.
