 HISTORY WITH VANDERBILT & THE SEC
- Monday will be the first all-time meeting.
- Last year the Islanders played SEC member Tennessee and will also face Texas A&M later this season.
- All-time, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is 2-15 against SEC opponents.
- The Islanders beat Texas A&M, 82-80, in 2003 in College Station for the program's first SEC victory.

VANDERBILT (1-0) NOTABLES
- NBA veteran Jerry Stackhouse was named the Commodores head coach in April of 2019 and is in his first season at Vanderbilt.
- Stackhouse played 18 seasons in the NBA and appeared in 970 games.
- The Commodores won their first game of the season, 83-65, over Southeast Missouri State at Memorial Gymnasium on Wednesday, Nov. 6, in front of 8,097 fans.
- Aaron Nesmith scored a game-high 25 points with four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.
- Saben Lee came off the bench to score 21 points with four rebounds with four assists and a block.
- Vanderbilt knocked down 14 three pointers with Nesmith hitting 7-of-11 long range attempts.
- The Commodores had eight total blocked shots and outscored the Redhawks, 51-33, in the second half of a game that was tied at the break, 32-32.
- Also in the starting lineup was Scotty Pippen Jr., son of NBA All-Star Scotty Pippen. The guard scored seven points with six assists and two steals in 26 minutes of action.
