- Women's team signs National Runner-Up
- Men's team signs high ranked Spanish player
We are so excited about Borja Delgado and Leopoldine Boisseau joining the Islanders Tennis Family. They both are elite student-athletes who bring high national rankings, tremendous success in the classroom and a passionate commitment for hard work and team spirit. We were very impressed with their level, but what stood out the most was their character and commitment to Islander values. We really believe they are our kind of players, and we are so happy they chose to join the Islanders.
Borja has been ranked top 150 in the Spanish Men's Open ranking. He was top 30 National Junior Ranking. He really stood out to us at the National Showcase with the way he fights and competes.
Leopoldine brings an impressive Junior ranking of top 20 Nationally in France. She made the quarterfinal of the National French Junior Championship in Singles and was the Doubles National Runner Up in France. We were so impressed with her fighting spirit and commitment to the athletic discipline lifestyle.
This was a great day for the Islanders!
Thank you for your continued support of Islander Tennis!
Coach Moore
"My time with the Islander Tennis team prepared me so well for success in the job world. The Islander core values of family first, out working other people and discipline are parallel to what companies are seeking in employees. These values create an advantage that set me apart. I am so grateful to all the coaches and staff for their consistent commitment to instilling these values in the student-athletes. I would not be where I am today if it weren't for them. Go Islanders!" ~ Nathan Robinson, 2011 Southland Conference Student-Athlete of the Year!
