CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi senior
Madison Green was named to the 2019 Academic All-District Volleyball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in a press release on Thursday. Green was named to the NCAA's Division I - District 7 first team which includes all schools from Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas and Wyoming. Green, a Biology major, has a 4.00 GPA at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Her 1,779 assists ranks fifth in the career record book and she is sixth with 83 service aces. Her 796 digs ranks ninth, making her just the third player in school history to rank in the top-10 on all three categories. This season she leads the Southland and is ranked third nationally with five triple-doubles this season. As a junior, she became A&M-Corpus Christi's first Academic All-America selection, landing a spot on the second team. Green is a two-time All-Southland honoree after being named a first team honoree as a junior and honorable mention performer as a sophomore.
The award program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot with voting taking place in December.
