- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball program (10-6, 4-1 Southland) edged out a defensive victory over New Orleans (5-10, 1-5 Southland) on Saturday afternoon, notching a 57-51 win over the Privateers on the Corpus Christi Athletic Club court at the American Bank Center.
- For the first time in school history, three separate Islanders compiled double-doubles in the same game, as juniors
Alexes Bryant (15 points, 13 rebounds),
Dalesia Booth (14 points, 13 rebounds) and
Emma Young (14 points, 11 rebounds) each recorded their second double-double of the season.

- For the game, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi closed out the competition shooting 25.4 percent (16-of-63) from the floor, 23.3 percent (6-of-26) at the three point line and 67.9 percent (19-of-28) at the charity stripe.

La'Janeira Robinson composed her best performance of the season, dropping 13 points behind her 4-of-13 from beyond the arc and one free throw. Beyond those four athletes, only freshman
Torrionna Nesbitt added to the Islanders' point total, hitting one free throw in the win.
- The victory marks the third in a row for A&M-Corpus Christi, a season-best as the Islanders move deeper into Southland play.
