Track & Field competes at Red Raider Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi indoor track & field program put together another tough showing in just the team's second competition of the season, battling a slew of nationally-competitive programs at the Texas Tech Red Raider Invitational on Friday evening. The Islanders managed to notch eight top ten individual finishes, including one first-place showing from sophomore Valentina Campos in the 3,000m run.

Strong performers included: freshman Daniel Armstrong's fifth-place finish in the 60m hurdles (8.04s); junior Terrion Spivey's 10th-place finish in the 400m (49.08s); junior Colton Cohea's ninth-place leap in the pole vault (4.75m); senior Benjamin Clark's seventh-place finish in shot put (15.96m); Aaron Rosales' 10th-place toss in the weight throw (14.17m); senior Sashane Hanson's second-place leap in the high jump (1.75m); and freshman Kennedy  Bontrager's ninth-place throw in shot put (12.25m).
