- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball program (9-6, 3-1 Southland) utilized a dominant second half to topple Sam Houston State (7-7, 2-2 Southland) on Wednesday evening, securing a 76-61 victory over the Bearkats at the Dugan Wellness Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
- The combined weight of juniors Dalesia Booth (21 points, eight rebounds), Alexes Bryant (14 points, nine rebounds) and Emma Young (12 points, seven rebounds) helped push the Islanders over the top, generating 61.8 percent of the squad's total offense while grabbing 47.1 percent of total rebounds.

- After a tight first half left the Islanders with just a two-point advantage, the group exploded out of the locker room firing on all cylinders, dropping as many points in the third quarter (31) as in the entire first half.
