Hannah McWilliams finished the pole vault competition at the 2018 NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships on Thursday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Despite three strong attempts, McWilliams was unable to clear the opening height of 13-1.5 (4.00m).
McWilliams set the Islander program record at 4.20m (13-9.25) at the UIW Invitational on April 14 of this season. She finished second at the 2018 Southland Conference Outdoor Championships. McWilliams tied for sixth place at the NCAA Division I West Regional in Sacramento, Calif., on May 25, to qualify for the championship meet. She cleared 4.18m (13-8.25) to finish in the top-12 of the competition.
