CONWAY, Ark. - Another big day at the plate wouldn't be enough to secure a Texas A&M-Corpus Christi win on Sunday, as Central Arkansas clinches this weekend's series on a 7-3 final in Conway.
Holding the Bears to a pair of runs in the first two innings, starting right hander
Dustin Lacaze looked strong in the beginning stages of his Sunday start, before a pair of Islander defensive errors plated another two runs for the home team to make it 3-0.
Leading the fourth off with three straight hits, Corpus Christi struck their first blow of the contest to get back within striking distance of the home team.
Harrison DiNicola started the frame off with a single, before
Enrique Sanchez Jr. put a pair of runners in scoring position with his successive double.
Drake Osborn brought the pair in on a single up the middle, recording his sixth and seventh RBI of the weekend.
UCA moved their lead to 6-2 in the bottom half of the fifth, crossing home plate on a pair of hits and two walks.
Cole Carter would relieve Lacaze in the frame, going on to toss the remaining 3.2 innings, holding Central Arkansas to four hits and a single earned run during his time on the hill.
In his first contest playing shortstop for the Blue and Green,
Jackson Owens tallied his team's final run of the night, driving in outfielder
Dalton Stark from third on a fielder's choice during the seventh. With the UCA pitching staff spraying a trio of singles from Stark, Dinicola and
Luke Marbach in the final two innings however, the Islander offense would be held quiet for the remainder of the matchup, finishing at a 7-3 defecit.
- With three singles and a run scored, Dinicola continued his current hitting streak to 11 straight games, while tying his season-high for knocks in a single game
- This is the second time this year Dinicola has had a hitting streak in the double-digits, with his former streak of 12 straight trailing only Andriud Martinez' 14 for a team-longest this season
- Osborn's two-RBI single pushes him to 29 runs driven in on the year, as he and Dinicola are tied for a team-best
- For the second night in a row, the Islanders' top-four in the order accounted for six hits on the day, with Itchy Burts extending his own hitting streak to 10
- Marbach tallied two hits on the day, touching first in three of his five plate appearances

The Islanders look to enact a little revenge in San Antonio this week, attempting to beat UTSA on their home field this coming Tuesday. The visiting side has won the Islanders' previous five matchups with UTSA, with the Blue and Green losing to the Roadrunners at home just two weeks ago.
