AUSTIN, Texas - With only three Texas A&M-Corpus Christi athletes competing in Thursday's portion of the 91st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays,
Allyson Girard,
Rabea Schoneborn and
Kendall Rodriguez each set personal records in their respective events in Austin.
Breaking the Islander record in the 1500m for a second time this season, Girard raced to first place with her time of 4:25.34. The junior outran Division I athletes from across the country with her time, as her pace sits atop the Southland Conference this season and ranks 21st in the country, barring incoming results from the remainder of this week's competitions.
Schoneborn set an outdoor PR in the 5000m, while claiming fourth in Austin this Thursday, crossing the finish line in 16:38.58. Her time trails only Girard's 16:27.41 for the top Islander mark this year, and ranks second in the Corpus Christi record book all-time.
Rodriguez continues to best her time in the 400m hurdles on a weekly basis, as the junior beat her previous PR in the event for a third straight meet. The Burleson native posted a time of 1:02.88 in the event, bettering the 1:03.17 she ran at the Victor Lopez Classic just last weekend.
