Islanders fall in overtime to UC Davis

Story Headlines
- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi men's basketball team fell in overtime to UC Davis, 57-54, on Saturday afternoon at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.
- The Islanders move to 3-2 on the year while UC Davis improves to 1-3 overall.
- This was just the second all-time meeting between the two programs. The series is now tied, 1-1.
- Myles Smith scored in double-figures for the third-straight game, leading the team with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting. He hit a pair of three pointers, had three rebounds and recorded a steal.
- This was the first overtime game for the Islanders since a 79-69 victory over Houston Baptist back on Jan. 27, 2018.

Key Islander Sequences
- The Islanders closed out final three minutes of the first half on a 7-0 run, erasing a five-point Aggie lead. Hunte started the run as he hit a layup off a steal from South. On the ensuing play, Hunte came up with a block to keep UC Davis off the board. A Lewis jumper with 2:03 remaining cut the lead to one, 25-24. Another defensive stop by the Islanders led to a free throw make from Babic to tie the game, 25-25, with 1:02 to play. The Aggies would miss another shot with 42 seconds to play in the half and after an A&M-Corpus Christi timeout, Hunte drew a foul and made a pair of free throws to give the Islanders a 27-25 lead heading into the half.

- The second half started just like the first ended with the Islanders extending their lead. Smith started the half with a three off an assist from Toney to make it 30-25. After a few minutes of scoreless ball, South ended the drought with a layup on a fast break to push the lead to seven, 32-25. The 14-0 run was capped by a Babic layup with 15:38 to go in the second half as A&M-Corpus Christi took a 34-25 lead.
