Key Islander Sequence
- Lewis took over for about a two-minute stretch in the second half, almost single-handily lifting the Islanders into the lead. Trailing 46-41, Lewis hit a free throw to make it 46-42. After UTRGV scored, Lewis knocked down a three to cut the deficit to three, 48-45. On the next possession, Lewis denied a shot at the rim and his layup brought the score to within one. The Vaqueros would miss a pair of free throws the next time down and Lewis converted a layup for his eighth-point in the run to give the Islanders a 49-48 lead.
