Beach Volleyball Opens Season Tuesday

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The second season in the history of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beach volleyball kicks off Tuesday afternoon as the Islanders host Houston Baptist at 3:30 p.m. at the beach courts located inside the Dugan Family Track and Soccer Stadium.
 
The Islanders are playing their first of three dates at home as the Blue and Green will face TCU and Texas A&M-Kingsville to close the season in April.
 
A&M-Corpus Christi and Houston Baptist will meet at least three times this season after the Blue and Green won twice against the Huskies in the inaugural season of the beach program in 2016. In the first home match in program history, the Islanders defeated the Huskies 3-2 last year on April 1.
 
To celebrate the first match of the 2017 season, the Islanders will be hosting a cookout at 3 p.m. before battling the Huskies 30 minutes later. Fans and students are invited to enjoy the cookout free of charge at the beach courts.
