CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – In the second day of the Third Coast Classic, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi dropped a pair of matches to New Orleans and Houston Baptist Saturday afternoon.

MATCH ONE | UNO 5 – AMCC 0

In the early morning match, the Islanders fell in a 5-0 decision to New Orleans. The Privateers opened with a 21-18, 21-13 victory at the number four spot as
Claire Karsten and
Kelsee Felux fell for the Islanders.

Kristyn Nicholson and
Mackenzie Coates took their first set 21-17 at the fifth spot. The Islanders pairing was unable to hold the momentum, however, falling 21-15 in the second before a 15-6 third.

At the top spot in the order,
Brittany Gilpin and
Madison Green fell in a tight battle against Cara Sander and Victoria Corcoran. The Islanders fell 21-18 in the first and then went extras in the second, but dropped 24-22.

Morgan Carlson and
Mallory Moran fell 21-14, 21-15 at the third spot while Madison Fitzsimmons and
Madison Woods dropped a 21-16, 23-21 decision at three.

In the second match of the day, the Islanders fell to Houston Baptist for the second time this season.

Morgan Carlson and
Mallory Moran went three sets at the number three spot to highlight the Islanders day. The duo took the first set from Bailey Banks and Melissa Fuchs by a 21-18 score. The Islanders duo was upended in the second and third by 21-12 and 15-11 scores.

At the top spot,
Brittany Gilpin and
Madison Green fell to Jessica Wooten and Aeriel Horton of HBU. The Islanders duo were upended 21-11, 21-19. The second pairing of
Madi Fitzsimmons and
Madison Woods fell by a 21-15, 21-10 score.

HBU completed the sweep with a 21-12, 21-16 win at number four and a 21-14, 21-15 win at five.
