CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Texas A&M-Corpus Christi continues one of its most competitive weekends of the year with a Sunday matchup against top-ranked Lamar. The Islanders enter their contest with the Cardinals after losing to McNeese 2-0 this past Friday night, but just a week removed from a 2-0 weekend on the road.
The hosting Blue and Green set a new singles season wins record this past Sunday after beating UCA and NSU by scores of 3-1 and 2-1 and is a single goal away from becoming the the largest goal producing team in school history.
Corpus Christi currently holds the eighth and final spot available in this year's Southland Conference Championship and can secure a spot in this year's tournament with wins against Lamar and HBU. The Islanders can clinch with a single win over Lamar, but would need help from Nicholls and Southeastern Louisiana losses. The hosting side has lost to the Cardinals just once in program history, winning both of their home matches against Lamar.
