CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's and women's tennis hits the road as the Islanders continue fall action this weekend.
The men travel to the UTSA Cup for matches on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In San Antonio, the men will face a field including competitors from UTSA, Texas Tech, UT Arlington, St. Mary's, Baylor, Texas and Tyler JC.
The men are looking to build off a strong performance at the Big Easy Classic last week, where the Islanders went 14-0. The Islanders are set to open competition at UTSA at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
On the women's side,
Marina Vicens Miquel and
Louise Trigona will head to the ITA Texas Regionals in Fort Worth. The pair will form a doubles team and both will compete in singles action at TCU.
The Islander duo kicks off doubles play at 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning against UIW's Victoria Kareh and Matea Zemunik. In singles play, Vicens Miquel will open her regional against Gabriela Tenorio of Texas Tech. Trigona meanwhile will draw through to play the No. 4 seed Petra Granic from Texas in the second round.
The ITA Regionals mark the end of fall competitions for the women while the men will return to action in their ITA Regionals following the UTSA Cup.
