CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Islanders of Texas A&M-Corpus Chrsiti return to the Island for Social Media Night against Abilene Christian on Thursday, Sep. 22, at 6:30 p.m.
Fresh off a Southland-opening sweep and record-breaking offensive performance at Sam Houston State, the Islanders look to double-down on the opening week of conference action in front of their home crowd.
SOCIAL MEDIA MIGHT
Social Media Night highlights include a scavenger hunt on the Go_Ders Snapchat account during the day, leading to prizes redeemable at the match. During the match, fans can win prizes by tweeting from your seat or participating in the Find Izzy promotion on Instagram. Both in-game promotions can be found at the respective Go_Islanders handle.

FIRST SERVE
• The Islanders went to Huntsville Tuesday night and swept the Bearkats on the road for the first time in a decade.
• The Blue and Green set a new school record with a .461 hitting percentage in the match as the Islanders committed just four errors all night.
•
Brittany Gilpin knocked down double-digit kills for the 11th consecutive match, co-leading the Islanders with 10 kills alongside
Morgan Carlson.
• A&M-Corpus Christi also played stifling defense, holding the Bearkats to an .081 hitting percentage on the match.
•The Islanders had 10 blocks in the match with the Bearkats and continue to show marked improvement at the net. The Blue and Green is second in the conference with 103.5 total blocks this season.
•A&M-Corpus Christi has not lost a home conference match since Oct. 21, 2014, a span that stretches 12 home Southland matches.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
• The Wildcats are just 1-14 entering the match Thursday night. This is Abilene Christian's first Southland match of the season.
• ACU is led by Jacey Smith with 157 kills on the year. Smith averaged 2.85 kills per set, while Corinne Grandcolas averages 2.00 kills per set on the season.
• Abilene Christian comes into Thursday night having dropped each of their past seven matches.
• Amongst returners, Kendall Bosse led the Wildcats with 14 kills in Corpus Christi last year. Bosse is now setting for the Wildcats.
