Softball's Stephanie Hughes Contract Not to be Renewed

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Director of Athletics Scott Lazenby has announced that the contract of Islanders Softball head coach Stephanie Hughes will not be renewed.

"We would like to thank Coach Hughes for five years of dedication to Islanders Softball," Lazenby said. "We believe that it is in the best interest of the program to take a step in a different direction moving forward."

Hughes skippered the Islanders for five years, compiling an 82-156-1 mark overall and a Southland Conference record of 50-74.

A national search for the sixth coach in program history will begin immediately.
