Kemper Bednar joined Islanders Athletic's sports performance department in October 2024.
Prior to coming to the Island, Bednar recently served as a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Oral Roberts where he worked directly with baseball, men's soccer, and men's and women's tennis. Bednar actively facilitated the design and coaching of the Foundations Program for freshman and transfer baseball players. With his other sports, he regulated individualized holistic S&C programs off data and needs. He closely assisted the Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning and collaborated with the athletic trainers on integrating protocols into training for comprehensive programs.
Bednar also had stints with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and at the University of Arkansas both as a S&C intern. He generated warm-up protocols and ensured completion of scheduled workouts with the Naturals as well as tracked and analyzed data to assist with programming and player safety protocol aligned with the organization.
With the Razorbacks, he oversaw the Redshirt Development Group and was responsible for directing the layout and logistics of the weight room. Additionally, he accumulated and devloped data to assists with training program development, devised and administered warm-up protocols for the athletes, and worked with Arkansas Athletic's nutritionist to enforce and ensure proper nutrition daily.
Bednar was a student-athlete himself and played baseball at Kansas City Kansas CC where he was an All-Conference HM before transfering to Southwestern Oklahoma State and Keiser Unviersity for a year each.
Bednar completed his bachelor's in Exercise Science from the University of Arkansas in 2022 and is currently working towards his master's in Sport and Leisure Administration from Oral Roberts.
He is NSCA-CSCS and First Aid-CPR certified.
