Bailey Whilden arrived at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in Sept. 2022 after passionately teaching, training, and coaching multiple student-athletes at the secondary level to the NAIA, Division II, and Division I level.
Whilden served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator with Dallas Christian College under the six-time Hall of Famer Head Coach Larry Tidwell. During her short time with the Crusaders, she assisted in building the 2021-2022 soon to be Top 10 ranked team. The crusaders acquired many accolades-the most the program had seen in a decade.
2019-2020 Whilden served as a Graduate Assistant Coach with Emporia State. Working closely with all positions on the court under Head Coach Toby Wynn, Whilden helped lead the Lady Hornets to a 24-7 record while finishing as the MIAA Regular Season and Tournament Runners-Up. Selected for the NCAA Tournament for two straight seasons, the season ended due to the COVID pandemic. The Hornets went 15-0 at home-completing its sixth undefeated home season in program history. Whilden assisted in the development of Tre'Zure Jobe to All-Central Region, First Team All-MIAA and MIAA Freshman of the Year honors, along with Second Team All-MIAA selection Mollie Mounsey and back to back MIAAA Defensive Player of the Year Jessica Wayne.

The summer leading to her stint at Emporia State, Whilden served as a volunteer intern under all-time winningest coach at Lamar and UTRGV-Larry Tidwell who was the Associate Head Coach at Kansas University. During the 2019 summer, Whilden received hands-on learning at the Division I level seeing the recruiting process, graphic designing, camp operations, and multiple practices under Head Coach Brandon Schneider’s program within the following year.
Before Emporia State, Whilden assisted with the 2018-2019 Texas Tech Lady Raiders while finishing her Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Management. While at Texas Tech, she worked closely with the Lady Raider’s staff helping with daily operations. Whilden participated in the practice development of the players’ and teams’ skill set-including notable WNBA Draft pick Brittany Brewer and 2019 Big-12 Freshman of the Year Chrislyn Carr. Whilden’s basketball education is credited greatly toward Texas Tech Hall of Famer Erin Grant and Hall of Famer/mentor Larry Tidwell.
