Biography
PRIOR TO TEXAS A&M-Corpus Christi: Achondo comes to the Islanders as another highly ranked prospect. The Santiago, Chile, native reached the round of 32 in a pair of 2015 junior tournaments and climbed into the top 400 on the junior circuit.
On the national level, Achondo played for Chile in the under-18 South American Championship in both 2014 and 2015. In the latter year, he picked up a victory and advanced to the round of 32 in the main draw.
Other highlights include a finals appearance and a trio of quarterfinal matches in 2014. Achondo plans to major in business at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
