Robert Edwards

Robert Edwards was hired as the Islanders' video coordinator in September 2019.

Prior to his arrival at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Edwards served two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Nevada, where he earned his masters in Justice Management. While there, he was part of a Nevada program that won back-to-back Mountain West regular season titles, made two trips to the NCAA Tournament and was ranked as high as No. 5 nationally. Edwards helped run daily one-on-one workouts, created recruiting and scouting graphics, analyzed opposing teams, created player edits in Sportscode and was in charge of seven student managers.

Edwards earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska in 2016 with a degree in Communication Studies while minoring in Coaching. He was the head student manager in 2016-17 while assisting with the Tim Miles Basketball Camp. He also managed daily walk-on workouts, created opponent video scouting reports and assisted the coaching staff with on-court operations, player recruitment and team logistics.

Outside of college athletics, Edwards served as the head coach of the 16U AAU Cornhusker Shooting Stars basketball program and was the assistant coach for the 17U AAU team. He did an internship with Victory Rock Prep / Florida Sons in 2015 in Bradenton, Fla.
