Kevin Reynolds was named the Islanders' Director of Men's Basketball Operations in September of 2019.
Prior to arriving at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Reynolds served as the Head Coach at Slippery Rock University, where he ranks second all-time in program history with 188 victories. In his 10 seasons at The Rock, he qualified for the PSAC playoffs eight times, made the NCAA Division II playoffs three times and was named the PSAC Coach of the Year in 2009.
Under Reynolds, Slippery Rock produced six seasons with at least 20 wins and averaged 18.8 wins per season. In 2012-13, SRU matched a program record with 23 wins while moving to the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament. Reynolds coached 17 student-athletes who have earned All-PSAC West Honors including 2008-09 Player of the Year Denell Stephens and 2012-13 Defensive Player of the Year Luiz Santos. Six players went on to earn all-region honors in Stephens, Antonio Butler, Devin Taylor (twice), Maron Brown, Kyle Camper and Micah Till with Stephens, Brown, Taylor and Till all being recognized as All-Americans as well.
In all, 16 former Slippery Rock men's basketball student-athletes have gone on to play professionally.
Reynolds has made stops as an assistant/associate head coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Edinboro University, Drake University and the University of Denver. He served as Interim Head Coach at Denver during his third season. After one year as the assistant coach at Morehead State University, Reynolds was named head coach at Slippery Rock in May 2008.
A four-year men's basketball student-athlete, Reynolds earned his bachelors degree from Bloomsburg University and got his masters from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he served as a graduate assistant for two seasons.
