Donald Reyes has been tabbed Director of Operations for the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men’s basketball program in Aug. 2021.
Reyes has over 15 years of experience working with Division I men’s basketball programs. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach for two years at Bethune-Cookman where he assisted with recruiting, player development and operations.
Prior to Bethune-Cookman, Reyes served in several different roles over seven seasons at Tulane. He began as the assistant to the head coach and shifted into duties as director of basketball operations and director of player development.
Reyes played a key role in Tulane’s postseason appearances in the CIT in 2012-13 and CBI in 2013-14. He helped develop two NBA players in Melvin Frazier Jr. and Cameron Reynolds. Frazier was the No. 35 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, while Reynolds signed as an NBA free agent and has had stints with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee Bucks and San Antonio Spurs, in addition to participating with Team USA in the Tokyo Olympics.
Reyes also worked stints at Arkansas State, Frank Phillips College and LSU. The Harvey, Louisiana native was a student manager for an LSU squad that reached for 2006 Final Four and the 2009 NCAA Tournament.
While at LSU, Reyes worked with numerous professionals whom have gone to play overseas and a few NBA players including Tyrus Thomas, Glen Davis, Marcus Thornton, Anthony Randolph and Garrett Temple.
Reyes earned his Bachelor of Arts from LSU in 2009, and his Master’s in sport administration from Arkansas State in 2011.
