IN HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Ray High School in Corpus Christi for head coach Sam Odem and was a teammate of current Islander Taurean Mitchell...Helped lead his team to a 34-3 record his senior season in 2003, averaging 17 points and nine rebounds a game...As a senior, he was named second team all-state as well as first team all-South Texas and all-district...As a junior he was named the league's most valuable player and was a first-team all-district selection as well as being named first-team all-district and second-team All South Texas as a sophomore.
