2013 (SOPHOMORE): Led the team in wins (9) … made 16 appearances and 12 starts … finished fourth on the team with a 3.12 ERA … won seven of his nine starts with no losses and a 2.58 ERA in Southland Conference play … recorded first win of the season in 3.1 hitless innings of relief against Texas State (2/26) … won first start of year going five innings giving up one run on six hits at Houston (3/9) … threw six innings of scoreless ball against Northwestern State (4/13) … recorded career highs in strikeouts and innings pitched while flirting with a no-hitter, throwing a complete game shutout giving up no runs and not allowing a hit until the leadoff hitter reached in the ninth against Central Arkansas (4/20) … gave up one run on nine hits en route to a win against McNeese State (5/4).
2012 (FRESHMAN): Pitched in 10.2 innings in nine games with one start … drove in two runs in 16 plate appearances … threw one scoreless inning in his collegiate debut against Nebraska-Omaha (2/19) … struck out two batters in a scoreless inning of relief at Texas (4/10) … pitched two innings of shutout ball while striking out three against Texas-Pan America (5/1).
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for coach Tim Bertholf at Uvalde High School in Uvalde … part of 2009 district runner-up and regional qualifiers … in 2010, he helped his team win district championship and qualify for regionals while finishing with a 23-12 record … hit for a .315 average and .449 on base percentage while slugging .556 with 49 RBI … produced a 2.76 ERA with 100 strikeouts on the mound … earned first team all-district and all-area as a pitcher, and was a San Antonio Player of the Week during the year … Academic All-District in 2010.
