In 2009: Finished second on the team with 28 appearances with 26 in relief ranking in the top 10 in the Southland Conference in both categories ... Was 1-1 on the season with two saves in 28-2/3 innings of work ...Third on team with 27 strikeouts, while save total was second  ... Earned only victory in first Islander career start tossing five innings of two-hit, two-run baseball with three strikeouts versus Texas Tech in 6-2 win ... Picked up first save versus Houston Baptist with one inning of shutout baseball ... Second save came in final appearance of season at Sam Houston State with a perfect inning of work. 

At Wharton JC: Played two seasons for head coach Bob Nottebart at Wharton Junior College along with fellow pitcher Brett Carnline ... Finished 2-3 as a sophomore with a 5.14 earned-run average ... Fanned 23 batters in 42 innings pitched.

In High School: Coached by Bruce Webb at Judson High School in Converse, Texas ... Was selected first-team all-district as a pitcher with a 1.55 ERA and 85 strikeouts during his senior campaign.
