2015 (SENIOR): Made 28 appearances out of the bullpen … went 1-2 with a 3.32 ERA and 10 saves … struck out 50 and allowed just 29 hits in 40 2/3 innings … allowed opponents to post just a .199 batting average … wrapped up his career as the school’s all-time leader in appearances (101) and saves (31) … recorded saves in three of the team’s first four games, posting scoreless outings in each, including the win over Missouri (2/19) … posted a save in the win over Stephen F. Austin (3/28) … collected a win over Texas (3/31) out of the bullpen in three innings of work … struck out the side in a perfect inning to save the opener against New Orleans (4/17) … tossed three scoreless outings in the series with Northwestern State, including a four-strikeout performance to save the series finale … pitched in all five games of the Southland Conference Tournament, collecting saves against Southeastern Louisiana (5/20) and Sam Houston State (5/22).
2014 (JUNIOR): Appeared in 33 games as the closer ... Recorded 8 saves on the season ... Collected three wins on the year ... Pitched 47 innings for the Islanders, recording 57 strikeouts ... Led the team with opponents batting average at .226 ... Recorded a 4.21 ERA on the year.
2013 (SOPHOMORE): Led all pitchers in appearances, throwing in 30 of the team’s 57 games … held opponents scoreless in 25 appearances … led the team in ERA with a 2.36 … set a school record by recording 13 saves and one win in 26.2 innings pitched … struck out 33 batters and only allowed seven earned runs … finished the season without allowing a run in the final 12 games … struck out two out of three batters he faced against Oklahoma (2/23) … struck out three batters in 1.1 innings of work to earn the save at Houston (3/9).
2012 (FRESHMAN): Pitched in 10 games and started one … struck out eight batters in 6.2 innings pitched … threw a scoreless inning at Houston (2/21) … went 1.1 innings without giving up a run at Dallas Baptist … set a season high by going two innings while not giving up a run and striking out four against Houston-Victoria (3/6).
HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Weatherford High School for head coach Terry Massey … Dorris helped lead team to a 31-7 record and an 11-3 conference mark in 2011 … allowed opponents to hit just .192 off of him with a 1.52 ERA while going 11-3 on the season … struck out 102 in 78 1/3 innings of work while limiting his opponents to just 23 walks … started 13 games with seven complete games.
