FRISCO, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis team saw a pair of players honored in the postseason, with
Yana Mykytyn and
Kseniya Ramanouskaya both being recognized as SLC All-Conference First Team selections announced by the league Friday.
Both Mykytyn and Ramanouskaya were First Team honorees last season in doubles, and now this year they are recognized for their individual performances in singles play. Mykytyn earns the accolade at No. 2 singles while Ramanouskaya was honored for No. 3 singles.
Mykytyn went 4-1 from No. 2 singles in conference play, but was 6-1 overall through the league slate with an additional two wins from the No. 1 singles position. She leading New Orleans 6-3, 3-2 before play was concluded due to the Islanders clinching, nearly giving her a 5-1 record from the No. 2 position. Overall, she went 15-2 on the year in singles play with a 10-1 overall mark at No. 2.
Ramanouskaya went undefeated in singles play through the conference slate, posting a 6-0 record at No. 3 singles as well as earning a pair of victories at No. 2 for the 8-0 overall league mark. She won seven of her eight conference matches in straight sets and earned a tough three-set win over UIW. She never dropped a singles dual at all on the year for the overall 19-0 singles record mainly at No. 3 singles.
The Islanders will be the No. 3 seed for the 2026 SLC Championships, set to begin Monday at 10 a.m. against No. 6 Southeastern in Beaumont, Texas. The winner will advance to Monday's 2 p.m. semifinals match against No. 2 Northwestern State/No. 7 UTRGV and the championship contest is set for Tuesday at 2 p.m.
