Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Tennis Stays Hot for 7-0 Decisions over Texas Lutheran

SEGUIN, Texas – Continuing to excel immediately in 2026, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's and women's tennis teams both won in seamless fashion with their third straight 7-0 match decisions this year already, topping Texas Lutheran Wednesday.

The men and women both move to 3-0 already on the season, winning each match decisively at 7-0. It is a good sign for the teams who are playing five matches in four consecutive days this week to open 2026.

The women have done so in undefeated fashion across the board, not dropping any doubles or singles matchups yet this year. Today, they went perfect in doubles play with all three courts posting 6-0 scores as Yana Mykytyn/Kseniya Ramanouskaya improve to 3-0 at No. 1 doubles and Adriana Jimenez Casado/Juliette Jalai move to 3-0 between No. 2 and No. 3. Ofer Kivity got her collegiate career started with a victory at No. 3 doubles today with partner Viktoriia Sedova.

Those same six stayed in the lineup for singles play, outscoring Texas Lutheran 72-1 in the match for a near spotless match for the Islanders.

The men also went the day without dropping a set, starting with all three doubles court wins. Matthieu Coignet/Mikel Garmendia dug deep for a 7-5 win at No. 1 while Etienne Marty/Maxime Salesses took a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles and Ethan Dasset/Josef Zapletal took a 6-2 game at No. 3 doubles.

Nicholas Niox Chateau saw singles action at court one today, staying true for a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Marty, Coignet, and Filip Vacula all cruised to a pair of 6-0, 6-0 sets at courts two, three, and six. Dasset and Zapletal finished with solid victories at No. 4 and No. 5 singles to cap the 7-0 day.

Both the men and women improve to 2-0 all-time over Texas Lutheran after both teams also defeated the Bulldogs last season in 7-0 decisions.

The Islanders will now play a true doubleheader tomorrow against McMurry in Mason, Texas before finally rounding back down to Corpus Christi. However, the men will quickly turn around back on the road for a pair of matches against Texas A&M-Texarkana Saturday.
