The Islanders will tip things off with a home exhibition on Oct. 25 against Abilene Christian at the Dugan Wellness Center open to the public and setting the stage for the season. The real action begins Nov. 3, when the Islanders officially open their campaign with a home doubleheader alongside the women's team against Trinity.
The Islanders have a testing schedule from there, with a nonconference slate of five away contests against Division I opponents. Nov. 6 at SMU begins a road swing where the Islanders will then face Tarleton State, Kansas, and Oklahoma State within a 10-day period.
A&M-Corpus Christi returns to the Coastal Bend Nov. 22 to face Howard Payne before traveling again for a high-profile clash at Xavier on Nov. 28.
The Southland Conference campaign gets underway Dec. 6 at Lamar and Dec. 17 at SFA
, with a pair of home tune-ups against Dallas Christian (Dec. 12) and Southwestern Adventist (Dec. 20) sprinkled in before league play kicks into full gear.
Conference play officially ramps up at home on Dec. 29, when the Islanders welcome Nicholls and New Orleans to the Island that weekend. This year's league slate features a true 22-game round robin, ensuring every Southland foe meets twice before the conference tournament March 8-11 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
The Islanders are set for a 31-game slate this season, highlighted by 16 home matchups with the addition of the exhibition game. Chasing their fifth straight 20-win campaign, the program has its sights set on a return to postseason play after making back-to-back NCAA Tournament runs in 2021-22 and 2022-23.
"We are looking forward to another great season of Islander Men's Basketball," said head coach
Jim Shaw, who enters his third year at the helm. "The 2025-26 schedule will challenge this new group in many ways with non-conference games on the road at four different Power Conference schools. Additionally, the Southland Conference slate of 22 games will be as challenging as any mid-major league in the country. We encourage all Islanders students, alumni, boosters, fans and community of Corpus Christi to come out and watch their team play some exciting college basketball this winter!"
