CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Gearing up for the final stretch of the 2025 season, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi baseball team returns to Chapman Field this weekend, playing host to Incarnate Word for a important three-game conference series starting on Friday.
After having their midweek tilt against UTSA on Tuesday canceled due to poor weather, the Islanders (14-26, 6-15 SLC) jump back into action after most recently taking on McNeese on the road last weekend. The team was able to come away with one win in three games during this series, dropping the opener and the finale but picking up a lopsided 13-5 victory on Saturday. Five different players hit a home run in this contest, marking the team's most in a single game this season and its first time reaching that figure in any game since March 20, 2022.
As for this weekend's tilt, the Islanders will try to repeat their last performance against the Cardinals (16-25, 2-19 SLC), when they went on the road and took two of three games in San Antonio. This marked their first series victory over UIW since the 2020 campaign, and it improved their record in the all-time series up to 20-13. In the most recent game between the two, the team took home a 14-12 win, with returners
Isaac Webb,
Chance Reisdorph and
Christian Smith-Johnson combining to go 9-17 with a home run, three doubles, four RBI and seven runs scored.
All three games of the series will be available to watch live on ESPN+. The live stats will also be available to follow along as they happen.
