THIBODAUX, La. – Opening the 2025 Southland Conference tournament with a sweep, the No. 1 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis team took a clean 4-0 match from No. 8 UIW to earn a spot in the semifinals.
After a dominant doubles performance for the early 1-0 lead, the Islanders (24-2) saw the bottom half of the singles lineup stepping up as courts four, five, and six all took straight set victories to complete the 4-0 match win.
It advances the top-seeded Islanders to the tournament semifinals, set for Thursday at 10 a.m. against No. 4 NJIT. That winner will move on to the championship match on Friday at 5 p.m. It is the fifth straight year the Islanders will play in the semifinals.

Kseniya Ramanouskaya picked up where they left off as the First Team All-Conference duo continued to defend No. 1 doubles with a 6-3 decision today to clinch the point. It came after

Adriana Jimenez Casado swiftly took a 6-1 dual at No. 3 doubles.
In singles,
Juliette Jalai only conceded two games for a 6-2, 6-0 win at court six for the 2-0 match lead. Ramanouskaya finished seconds behind her after finalizing a pair of 6-1 sets at court four.
The clinching point came down to race between No. 2 and No. 5 singles, both seeing match point on their court. However, it was Jimenez Casado who delivered the final blow after breaking serve for a 6-4, 6-3 win.
The women improve to 26-8 in SLC Tournament matches under Moore. The Islanders are 11-2 in first-round matches since 2012. Looking ahead to tomorrow, the Islanders are 8-2 all-time in SLC semifinal matches.
