CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A week after the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis team was crowned SLC Regular Season Champions, the women's tennis team followed suit as they secured their own claim to the regular season title as both will be the top seed for the conference tournament.
The Southland Conference released the 2025 Men's and Women's Tennis brackets for this week's tournaments, as the Islanders took over the No. 1 seed on both sides. The men went undefeated 6-0 in the conference schedule this year for their 13
th regular season title. The women posted an 8-1 league record for their third consecutive regular season championship and seventh overall.
Islanders Tennis has now championed 37 combined titles as both the men and women hold conference records for SLC Tournament championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. The men have a total of 23 titles as one of the most winning teams in the league across all sports.
It is the first time since 2017 that both teams won the regular season the same year and third time overall. As the No.1 seeds, both will be striving for their second title of the year as the men are fighting for their 11
th SLC Tournament championship while the women are going for their eighth including extending a historic four-year run to the NCAAs.
The women will begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. against the winner of No. 8 UIW/No. 9 Lamar. The men get started Thursday at 10 a.m. against No. 8 Nicholls.
