Tennis Hits Road for Final Time in Regular Season to Texas Lutheran

SEGUIN, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's and women's tennis teams will compete in their final nonconference and true road matches of the year when they head to face Texas Lutheran Thursday.
 
Both teams will face off with the Bulldogs beginning at 11 a.m. The women (19-2) are 11-1 on the road this year and 14-1 in nonconference matchups while the men (16-4) hold a 9-3 away record and 14-4 nonconference mark.
 
The women are recently coming off a warrior 4-3 road win at SFA this past Monday for three consecutive away victories while the men are riding a wave of momentum from two road conference wins at Nicholls and New Orleans. Both are on winning streaks of at least seven matches.
 
The women are dominating with a young squad, with freshmen Juliette Jalai and Josefa Fuenzalida both leading the way with 15 singles wins each. Fellow freshman Yana Mykytyn is also in double figures with 13 dual victories while freshman Leticia Tarocco has also reached 10 this season.
 
In doubles play, Mykytyn has paired with Kseniya Ramanouskaya to roll at No. 1 doubles with an astounding 15-1 record on the year.
 
The men have a trio of sophomores with 10+ singles wins, with Nicholas Niox Chateau leading the way with 11. Nicolas Trebuchet and Omar Suarez have notched 10 dual victories apiece. Suarez is also in double figure wins in doubles play, hoisting a 12-2 record. Matthieu Coignet holds 13 doubles win, the team lead, and Josef Zapletal raises 10.
 
It will be the first-ever meetings with Texas Lutheran on both the men's and women's side.
