PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – After a late change that moved a doubleheader against Prairie View to become road matches, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's and women's tennis teams both took care of business to defeat the Panters in 7-0 and 4-0 decisions Tuesday.
The women move to a perfect 8-0 on the year while the men maintain an untouched record as well at 6-0. It is the first time the men have gone undefeated through their first six matches since the 2021 season. It is the second time in the last three years that the women started 8-0 after they got out to an 11-0 start in 2023.
For the women, freshman
Juliette Jalai added to her team-leading win total to seven, garnering another singles win from court six in the first match of the day with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Freshmen
Leticia Tarocco, Josefa Fuenzalisa, and
Yana Mykytyn all secured a singles win in both matches on the day spanning between courts two through five. All three of them improve to 5-0 on the year in their singles competition.
Moving to 7-0 in doubles play was the pairing of Mykytyn and freshman
Kseniya Ramanouskaya who won both of their matchups at No. 1 doubles today to help secure the team doubles point in each.

The doubles duo that continued to stand out for the men was the pairing of junior

Matthieu Coignet as they notched victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles today to hoist a 5-0 record on the year.
The women will now head to Texas A&M-Kingsville Thursday at 11 a.m. before finally returning home Monday, Feb. 10 against UTSA. The men will next be in action on Feb. 13 at UTRGV.
