LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team will make one more trip to Louisiana as the regular season winds down to just two weeks left, taking on McNeese Saturday at 4 p.m. before facing Nicholls Monday at 6:30 p.m.
The Islanders (17-11, 10-6 SLC) are nearing a secured spot in the Southland Conference Tournament, currently sitting tied for fourth in the standings with just four games remaining on the schedule. That tie comes with Nicholls as this weekend could help iron out seeding.
It helps after an undefeated home weekend for the Islanders, who defeated both UIW and HCU. The victory over the Huskies was the largest deficit overcome by the Islanders this year, ending the night shooting 50.0 percent (24-48) from the field. It was their 14th game shooting that high of a mark this year, which only 14 other teams in the country have done.
