WACO, Texas – Taking on Oral Roberts in a neutral matchup Sunday, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis team took care of a business in a clean 4-0 match victory to keep its undefeated record intact.
The Islanders (8-0) have now improved to 8-0 on the year, having yet to be taken down. It extends their best start to a season since 2021 when they won their first nine matches that year.
It was also the first-ever meeting between A&M-Corpus Christi and Oral Roberts, with the Islanders now garnering the 1-0 advantage.
"This team has great character, and I love their brotherhood and team unity!" said head coach
Steve Moore. "This is a really fun group to coach because they are so motivated, determined, and work so hard! It's special when you have a group of guys like this who are all on the same page, it makes for a very special culture! We have some big challenges ahead so we must stay eye of the tiger focused, keep working hard on the right things, and keep improving five percent every day! I know this team is committed to do that with all their heart!"
Doubles play was decided in quick 6-0 decisions on courts two and three, as the pairings of
Nathan Favier/

With the early 1-0 lead in the match, Suarez earned himself the 2-0 day with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles. The match was decided with the help of
