CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – After a grueling stretch of four consecutive road games, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team finally gets to play back on its home court Saturday at 1 p.m. against Howard Payne.
The Islanders are coming back after nearly a week off following a span of five games in 13 days, with the last four being on the road. They are looking to break a bit of a skid but continue a winning home court advantage after opening the season at home with a win over Trinity.
Under head coach
Jim Shaw, the Islanders are 29-4 at home. They are on an 11 game nonconference home winning streak.
The Islanders are 2-0 over Howard Payne, playing back in 2018-19 and 2002-03. They scored over 80 points in each of the previous two meetings with the Yellow Jackets. A&M-Corpus Christi is 47-7 over the last five seasons since Shaw has been on staff when scoring over 80 points.
The game will be available to watch live on ESPN+ with
Steven King on the call.
