CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Entering its third year under head coach
Jim Shaw, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team will get the 2025-26 season underway Monday night when it hosts Trinity at 7:30 p.m. in the Dugan Wellness Center for a White Out presented by Jersey Mike's.
The Islanders begin a new season with a new look, with this year's roster featuring 12 newcomers after the program reloaded in the offseason. They join five returners including common starter

This year will a campaign towards the program's first time posting five consecutive 20-win seasons.
The first game comes against Trinity, their fourth-ever meeting and first since 2022-23 when the Islanders won 91-73. Before then, the two hadn't met since Dec. 6, 2005 in an 86-62 Islanders win. The only other meeting came on Nov. 27, 2002 when A&M-Corpus Christi won 73-49.
The Islanders are 21-5 all-time in season openers and 23-3 in home openers. They haven't lost a home opener since the 2019-20 season against Louisiana Tech.
